Hosted at the Orange County Convention Center this year, The Great Big Backpack Build successfully kicked off A Gift for Teaching’s Ready for Back-to-School campaign presented by Walt Disney World Resort with a record-breaking number of backpacks funded and packed with essential supplies!
In a fun and impactful morning, 30 companies came together with one goal: to build backpacks for brighter futures. 20,000 backpacks were filled with core school supplies with the help of more than 400 corporate volunteers. These essentials will be delivered to 135 Orange County public schools with the highest need as well as public schools in Osceola County.
To produce this ultimate corporate team-building event, more than $165,000 worth of in-kind production services, venue space, and materials were additionally donated by generous community partners. These impactful collaborations help ensure even more funds can be dedicated to providing educational resources that inspire future leaders – for an impact lasting beyond just one event.
Because of the dedication to corporate social responsibility in our community, 20,000 children in Central Florida will be guaranteed to begin the new school year prepared and excited to learn this fall!
A special thanks to these hardworking teams for building backpacks for brighter futures:
