A Gift for Teaching brings free classroom supplies closer to Orange County public school educators through a mobile store and convenient curbside pickup.
With a new school year underway, Pencil Boy Programs are once again meeting teachers where they are. The return of Pencil Boy Express – The Mobile Free Store and Pencil Boy Curbside means more educators can quickly access the essential supplies their students need, where and when it works best for them after an already busy day.
Teachers often spend hours preparing lessons, supporting students, and caring for their own families. A visit to A Gift for Teaching’s Free Teacher Supply Store may not always fit into that schedule every month. Pencil Boy Programs help remove that barrier by taking free educational resources directly to schools and offering an easy order-ahead pickup option.
During the first month of service in the 2026-2027 school year, the two innovative distribution methods delivered a combined $230,000+ worth of supplies, supporting more than 600 classrooms across Central Florida. Pencil Boy Programs is scheduled to continue through the end of April 2027, helping public school teachers across Central Florida stay stocked throughout the year.
A Free Store That Comes to Teachers
Pencil Boy Express—The Mobile Free Store transforms the end of the school day into a convenient after-school shopping opportunity for eligible educators throughout Orange County. The pop-up store began its weekly route the first week of September, stopping at Cypress Creek High School, East River High School, Evans High School, Colonial High School, and Wekiva High School.
Across those visits, more than 166 teachers from 29 nearby schools selected $64,000+ worth of pencils, paper, learning tools, and other classroom essentials, all at no cost. Scheduling free shopping appointments for more future school visits can be done on MyAGFT online or MyAGFT+ mobile app.
Online Curbside Orders, Packed with Care
Pencil Boy Curbside offers another convenient way to shop as educators place free supply orders online and volunteers carefully hand pack each customized request for pickup. In its first month of reopening, dedicated volunteers prepared 445 orders containing more than $166,000 in educational resources for local classrooms.
This school year, the first ten eligible schools to submit 15 or more orders may also qualify for free direct delivery! A limited number of online orders become available on the 1st of every month on MyAGFT online or MyAGFT+ mobile app.
