In the 2025-2026 school year, A Gift For Teaching’s Pencil Boy Programs continued to deliver on its promise in powerful ways. From Pencil Boy Curbside supply order fulfillment to a new section on Pencil Boy Express – The Mobile Free Store, we’ve worked to remove barriers and ensure educators have the tools they need to help students succeed.
Thanks to the collective effort of volunteers, partners, and supporters, we didn’t just meet our goals – we exceeded them!
This report highlights how, together, we placed critical resources directly into the hands of thousands of educators, increased access and convenience, and expanded the impact of every visit, every delivery, and every interaction.
Pencil Boy Express – The Mobile Free Store
Pencil Boy Express hit the road 29 times, surpassing its goal of 28 stops. Through a newly added “Extra Credit” section, a place where shoppers were able to share supplies with others, impact also increased as average shopping values rose by $50, allowing teachers to get more of what they need each visit. The average cart reached $375 worth of supplies!
Pencil Boy Curbside
Pencil Boy Curbside remains a vital way to quickly and efficiently get supplies into the hands of teachers. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and packing shift leaders, Pencil Boy Curbside surpassed its goal of 2,940 orders, fulfilling 3,152 in total!
Schools with high Pencil Boy Curbside order volume received free delivery, which allowed, on average, 90% of monthly teacher supply orders to be delivered directly to campuses. Over the course of the year, more than 80 deliveries were made, averaging direct service to 10 schools each month, further increasing access and convenience for educators.
The numbers tell an incredible story.
More than 4,800 teacher shopping visits and $1.7+ million in supplies distributed, but the true impact was found in classrooms where students were more engaged, teachers felt supported, and learning took place without limitations.
