It’s not “just a backpack.” It’s a gateway to student success.

This summer, more than 80 businesses, groups, and supporters stepped forward, answering the call to support our educators and future leaders in this year’s Back-to-School Drive – Central Florida’s LARGEST school supply drive.

This collective effort culminated in the collection of over 199,600 physical supplies and $24,900+ in donations for local students. Through A Gift for Teaching, every dollar received is transformed into $10 worth of essential supplies, greatly amplifying the impact of each contribution. These gifts will help ease the financial burden on local teachers and families alike, ensuring their students have the tools they need to succeed in the new school year.

Each day, A Gift for Teaching distributes more than $76,000 worth of free educational resources to teachers for their classrooms and students. Throughout the year, teachers can shop in-store, online, or on a mobile unit to access these essential supplies – all at no cost.

These free teaching tools not only meet a student’s basic needs to learn but also expand the variety and depth of classroom projects, sparking creativity and engagement in an equitable learning environment. Without these vital supplies, student achievement, interest in learning, and self-esteem are impacted, and the new year has only just begun.

To continue empowering teachers and inspiring future leaders, become a Classroom Hero today and join A Gift for Teaching’s community of monthly donors. Your generous recurring gift of $25 a month will be matched, dollar for dollar, for an entire year to ensure six more classrooms have access to the free supplies they need this school year.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the 2024 Top 5 Overall Drives and all our incredible community partners for hosting supply drives and stocking our shelves with supplies.
