A Gift for Teaching is proud to introduce the newly appointed members of the Executive Leadership Committee for our Board of Directors: four distinguished professionals whose commitment, experience, and passion for service will help guide our mission forward.

We extend our deepest gratitude for their enthusiasm to serve and for the invaluable expertise they bring to our organization. Each of these leaders has demonstrated steadfast dedication to strengthening our Central Florida community, and we are honored to have them join us in our mission.

BOARD CHAIR: Rick Chattin, Charter Communications

Rick is Vice President of Finance for Sports & News at Charter Communications, bringing 25 years of experience in finance and business planning leadership. In his role, he leverages his expertise in business operations, financial planning, and team development to support strategic decision-making and organizational effectiveness. 

VICE-CHAIR: Kevin Dougherty, Addition Financial

Kevin brings over 37 years of strategic leadership in the financial services industry. His career highlights include 21 years of progressive leadership at Addition Financial Credit Union, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer. Kevin’s expertise spans areas such as growth strategy, technology integration, process optimization, and cultural transformation, all designed to exceed member expectations and drive organizational success.

TREASURER: Jan Hanshaft, Charles Schwab & Co.

Jan is a Managing Director of Operational Services at Charles Schwab, bringing more than 38 years of experience in the financial services industry. Since joining Schwab in 2009, Jan has led teams across settlements, tax reporting, cost basis operations, and client reporting, with a consistent focus on operational efficiency, risk management, and client service excellence.

SECRETARY: Justin R. Williams, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children

As president of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Justin is focused on leading and implementing the hospital’s strategic and operational direction and developing pediatric services. Justin recently served as chief operating officer where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations, physician and team member engagement, and strategic initiative development and implementation at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital.

As we welcome this new Executive Leadership Committee, A Gift for Teaching extends our heartfelt appreciation to Valerie Read, immediate past board chair, for her dedicated service, steady guidance, and unwavering belief in our mission.

We are grateful to our volunteer board of members for stepping forward to share their leadership and commitment. Their collective strengths in finance, operations, and community engagement will play a meaningful role in helping A Gift for Teaching support even more teachers and students across Central Florida.
