Who is eligible to shop? 

All full-time instructional personnel from K-12 Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) schools with more than 60% of students in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program (FRLP) may shop at  (AGFT) twice between September- December. See list of eligible high-need schools. Instructional personnel includes classroom/general education teachers, media specialists, guidance counselors, nurses, principals, assistant principals, and deans. At this time, custodians and administrative support staff such as administrative assistants, paraprofessionals, and positions assigned to other departments other than a school, are not eligible to shop.

New to the 2020-2021 school year: Charter schools, Head Start programs and schools not on the eligible school list will not be able to shop through December 2020 or until our Teacher Free Store reopens.

At this time, A Gift For Teaching (AGFT) serves public schools in Orange and Osceola Counties and is unable to service private schools. Orange County Public School teachers may shop at AGFT through Pencil Boy Curbside and Osceola County Public School teachers may shop at A Gift For Teaching of Osceola County.

What is Pencil Boy Curbside?

As safety is our top priority, in order to best serve teachers during this time we will no longer offer in-store shopping.  Instead, we will be introducing “Pencil Boy Curbside”. This will allow teachers to place their orders online and pick them up from AGFT. This change will be in effect until at least December 2020.

What happened to Pencil Boy Online?

During the fall of 2020, we’ll be using our Pencil Boy Online platform to have teachers place their Pencil Boy Curbside orders. Stay tuned for Pencil Boy Online to return once our Free Store is able to reopen for in-person shopping.

What happened to Pencil Boy Express- The Mobile Free Store?

At this time Pencil Boy Express is not up and running but is excited to get back out on the road again as soon as it is safe to do so. Stay tuned for locations to be announced in our teacher emails and social media (FacebookTwitter, and Instagram).

When can I shop?

Shopping will be open Monday- Saturday starting September 1st. There will be a LIMITED number of orders that can be placed each day, once they are full, you will no longer be able to order until the following day.

May I take supplies for my own children if they attend a monthly school?

All items distributed through AGFT are strictly for student and classroom use only. Items may NOT be taken for personal use, sold, bartered, traded, or donated elsewhere.

Can I shop for someone else?

Eligible teachers must shop for themselves online but may send someone else to pick-up their supplies curbside. They will need your first and last name, and school to pick-up-make sure to give them good directions on where to come!
