Ready To Read Book Drive

March is National Reading Month
Half of Orange County public school students are not reading at grade level, and you can help!

Join us in taking a stand on summer reading to spark imagination and curiosity for learning outside of the school year! You can help stop the “Summer Slide” by providing teachers free reading books and supplies for their students in need.

The “Summer Slide” is the tendency for students to lost some of the educational gains they made during the previous school year. Having the tools to engage in fun learning opportunities over the summer helps students to develop habits to be ready to read and learn in the new academic year.

What we need:

A Gift For Teaching distributes an average of 5,000 books each month to teachers for their students to read.

Help re-stock our book shelves with new and gently used early reader books, picture story books, chapter books, and middle grade novels. Please note we cannot accept religious or violent reading material.

How to help:

  • Recruit your friends, family, and colleagues to host a book drive
  • Visit your favorite book store to select your favorite children’s books to donate
  • Re-gift gently-used books your children have outgrown or from your personal library

Donation drop-off:

Monday-Friday from 9:30AM – 4:30 PM
A Gift For Teaching, 6501 Magic Way, Bldg. 400 C Orlando, FL 32809
